Better products and services for Chinese customers. SMS Meer expands workshop in Shanghai

SMS Meer Engineering China (SMEC) has expanded its workshop capacity in Shanghai, China. Through the new facilities, SMS Meer will largely strengthen its capacity to serve its Chinese customers.

The expansion represents a total investment of 10 million EUR. It covers a total floor area of 12,500 square meters. Among others, the SMEC team produces components for wire rod and tube plants, forging and finishing equipment, and also offers services including installation, site management as well as the entire portfolio of after sales products. SMEC plans to increase its workforce to 500 employees by adding engineers, service and production specialists. The opening ceremony, held March 18, was attended by 200 important leaders from the Chinese steel industry and local government officials.
