Abstract

This article considers the peculiarities of the hydrogeological investigations during the development of diamond deposits in Western Yakutia. The examples of basic indices required for the assessment of drainage brines’ removal methods at mining operations of “ALROSA” JSC. The necessity of taking into account the specific features of experimental filtration works with the acquisition of objective evidence is related both with water invasion problems of mine workings at diamond deposits in Western Yakutia, and with issues of mineralized drainage removal. The availability of variable gas components in groundwaters, together with their nonuniform density, sufficiently affects the quality of hydrogeological investigations. The specific character of performed works is explained by the fact, that the standard methods of evaluating hydrodynamic parameters of water-saturated rocks on changing the groundwater level mode are not suitable for the calculations. Thus, the level in inspection wells has been increased during the group pumping. However, when the pumping halted the level, on the contrary, it started to decrease. Along with the experiments of pouring employment in brines, the investigation of cryogenic or partially water-saturated rocks indicated the frequent outbursts of gas-water mixtures from the well. In such conditions, it is impossible to measure the level of water. That is why new approaches and methods have to be developed for the researches with subsequent interpretation of the received data on different deposits of the region. The alteration analysis of filtration- capacitive rock properties on refuse dumps makes it possible to correct the well located places, and to reveal their application efficiency in cryolithozone for further forecasts of the employed environmentally safe method for drains removal. The measurements of actual water levels in boreholes do not indicate the pressure dynamics in water-saturated beds of anthropogenic talik in real cryolithozone conditions. According to this, the contrast variability of cryogeological environment has a sufficient influence on their behavior in wells. That is why, the recalculation on reduced levels with subsequent mapping of pressures is performed, which makes it possible to trace the migration directions of disposed drainage brines in anthropogenic taliks on pumping grounds.

This research work was held with the financial support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russian Federation, within the project No. 2010-218-01-001 “Creation of complex innovation environmentally safe technology of extraction and processing of diamondiferous ores in the Far North”, which is being held with the participation of North-Eastern Federal University named after M. K. Ammosov and “ALROSA” JSC.
