Abstract

When alloying cast iron with chromium, solid solutions with α- and γ-iron are formed, and with a content of more than 3 % to 7 % chromium, complex carbides such as Me7C3, Me23C6 and the intermetallic phase Fe-Sg, called the σ-phase. With a Cr content of 0.25-0.6 %, the tendency of cast iron to carbonization and bleaching increases, while at the same time strength, hardness, heat resistance, resistance to scale formation and growth, wear and corrosion resistance increase, especially with complex alloying with other elements: silicon, nickel, molybdenum, copper and aluminum. In high-chromium cast irons with a carbon and silicon content of less than 1.5 % each, the chromium distribution between the phases does not depend on the modification of the melt and the types of heat treatment, there is only a slight decrease in the content of carbides of the cementite type, while increasing the chromium content due to the decomposition of iron carbide. The purpose of this work is to improve the performance properties of IChKh12M by heat treatment. The purpose of this work is to improve the performance properties of IChKh12M by heat treatment. In order to fulfill all the tasks set, it was decided to carry out the planned stages of heat treatment on samples from a plate of cast iron IChKh12M.
