Abstract

The article describes technical approaches to selecting and designing support for tunnels driven in zones of influence of actual mining, based on the long-term stability criteria of mine support under the classification of rocks in accordance with the construction norms and regulations SNiP II-94-80. For the actual ground conditions, mining with level caving and frontal ore drawing and self-propelled equipment in service in mines of Talnakh and Norilsk, the authors offer the formula developed, based on the related research findings, for determination of rock stability criteria, considering a set of influences, including previously neglected. Such influences include stress concentration at tunnel perimeter, mining method parameters, inter-effect of parallel and intersecting mine workings, natural and induced damage of rock mass, dynamic impact of blasting, orientation of a mine working relative to the most developed system of joints, etc. These influences are expressed in terms of coefficients compiled in the table. Accordingly, recommendations are made on support of excavations in the zones of influence of actual mining, and the sequence of selection of a support type and calculation of its parameters is illustrated in terms of Zapolyarny Mine.
