The research has been implemented under the auspices of specialists from the Automation and Control Research and Production Company: P. A. Kisly, N. N. Shvets, V. S. Cherevik, A. I. Litvin, A. I. Alekhin and others.

Abstract

The article focuses on handling the problem of import substitution that has recently become urgent in the CIS countries, specifically, in the area of mining machine building. The authors describe the research works of specialized research and design institutions guiding production activity of the Ukrainian state-owned uranium mining company Vostochny Mining-and-Processing Integrated Works (VostMPIW) in terms of modification and prototyping of new mining equipment. Models, standard sizes and specifications of new drilling and loading-and-hauling machines, as well as their outfitting, tools and application ranges are presented. Reengineering and manufacturing of mining machinery is implemented by Automation and Control Research and Production Company conjointly with the Repair and Engineering Works of VostMPIW. The equipment has passed all trials and expert examination, is approved by a trial board and is efficiently used in mines of VostMPIW and across Ukraine. Parameters and characteristics of the equipment comply with ground conditions of heading and stoping in uranium mines, ensure industrial and environmental safety and are price-competitive. The authors believe that the modified and new equipment is efficiently applicable in underground mines of the other countries, in mines with the same or analogous ground conditions.
