Tsvetnye Metally

Current issue of a Journal «Tsvetnye Metally» shares the questions of a theory and practice of ore benefication, production and processing of non-ferrous metals, complex usage of ore raw materials and economics and management of production.

An article by Yu. A. Layner, G. A. Milkov, E. N. Samoylov (A. A. Baikov Institute of Metallurgy and Materials Science (IMET RAN)) summarizes the physical, chemical and technological researchings, which allowed to develop the prospective ways of obtaining the aluminium (chloric aluminium, electrolysis with inert anodic) and compounds on it's basis : aluminium oxide (alumina) and aluminium salts (coagulants). The physical and chemical researchings are:

-the revelation of a reactivity dependence of metallic aluminium, aluminium hydroxide and oxide and simple and complex compounds, – to acids and alkalies from their structure. The simple and complex compounds are formed on the basis of aluminium hydroxide and oxide and belong to the aluminium containing raw materials;

-dividing the aluminium compounds in water solutions from the oxides of iron and silicon;

-extraction of germanium, gallium, scandium, molybdenium and other small impurities;

-synthesis of a new generation coagulants (mixed coagulants and aluminium hydroxide and chloride);

-development of the creation principles of inert anodes` materials in three basic directions: cermets, metallic alloys and oxidation compounds.

Middle-titanium slades, which contain 40-60% of TiO2, are obtained during the pyrometallurgical processing of titanomagnetite concentrates. These slades need to be further obtained. One of the directions of the increasing of titanium dioxide content is the preshaping of manufactured rutile in slag.

Article by I. M. Zelenova and A. A. Morozov shares the mechanism and kinetics of the slags rutilization from the concentrates of Gremyakha-Vyrmes and Khibiny deposits by the solid-phase oxidation in isothermic and polythermic conditions.

The section «Composites and multipurpose coatings» shares the article, which proposes a new approach to the choice of an alloying systems of high-temperature nickel alloys with a polycrystalline structure. In the high temperatures, the mechanic properties of a new alloy exceed the mechanic properties of one of the best Russian alloys EP741NP.

This issue contains an article about the beneficating plant «Nova Zinc». It is a part of Akzhal Ore Mining and Processing Enterprise, which celebrates a 60-th anniversary this year. «Nova Zinc» processes lead-zinc ores of Akzhal deposit (Kazakhstan). The article reports about the operation of this plant from the moment of it's development till nowadays. The amount of ore processing by «Nova Zinc» contains more than 1610 thousands of tonnes per year. In the eve of 60-th anniversary of Akzhal Ore Mining and Processing Enterprise, the personnel of «Nova Zinc» has it's clear program and reliable team for solving the appeared tusks in the conditions of market economy.

In February, National University of Science and Technology «MISiS», along with Trade Delegates of Kazakhstan Republic in Russian Federation, carried out a round table with representatives of enterprises of mining and metallurgical branch, industrial parks and engineering universities of Kazakhstan. This round table was held in Moscow. It was devoted to the questions of collaboration in and around the education and new technologies with Kazakhstan mining and metallurgical enterprises. A conversation and experience exchange on the technological questions took place during the partner meeting. The agreements and memorandums of collaboration were signed, as well as a collaboration of education and training of the personnel of Kazakhstan metallurgical companies.

A post-release is published in the «Chronicle» section.
