With the improvement of ore pillars in the “Udachnyy” open pit of “ALROSA” JSC, there is planned to use a unique technology with the edges placing into the limit stability position, due to the ultra-high benches and rock mass haulage, by the steeply inclined ramps. The rock mass from the pillars is going to be blown up and dropped to the open pit’s bottom for the formation of ore-rock cushion, required for the transition to the process of the underground mining of deposit. However, part of the ore is going to be extracted from the breakdown by open-cast mining. In order to ensure the safe working conditions of operators, there is going to be used the complex of loading and haulage equipment with the remote control. This equipment consist of a loader and hinged dump trucks. Taking into account the absence of experience in the application of mobile equipment with a remote control at Russian enterprises, the substantiation of the equipment productivity became the important task. This paper considers the certain variants, when the ore hauling period will take one year or half of a year. In this case, considering the dump trucks fleet, there are many variation parameters, such as:
the number of dump trucks;
the capacity of ore, prepared to be hauled;
the terms of ore pillars mining;
the operating mode of equipment.
At the same time, the number of input data is missed due to the lack of calculation rules and analogues, which, for example, could help to adopt the uptime of engines, fleet utilization, shift time efficiency, etc. Therefore, the expert estimation methods were applied during the researches. The calculations were held, using the multivariate scheme. The maximum capacity of the transport system was determined in the substantiation of the maximum fleet of dump trucks. According to this transport system, a further increase in the number of dump trucks does not increase the productivity. As a result, there were solved the following direct and inverse problems:
on the one hand, there was calculated the capacity of the purchase planned rock mass, which can be hauled by four dump trucks for the set period;
on the other hand, there was substantiated the certain fleet, which will provide the hauling of the total amount of ore.
This research work was held with the financial support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russian Federation, within the project No. 2010-218-01-001 “Creation of complex innovation environmentally safe technology of extraction and processing of diamondiferous ores in the Far North”, which is being held with the participation of North-Eastern Federal University named after M. K. Ammosov and “ALROSA” JSC.
