One of the activities of Science and Production Association "RIVS" is the collaboration with foreign enterprises. In 1977–1978, there was implemented the Carmen processing plant, included in the «Carmen Copper Corporation», with the project capacity of 14 mln. t of ore per year. Nowadays, the plant processes the copper-porphyric molybdenum containing ore with the obtaining of only copper and magnetite concentrates. The specialists from Science and Production Association "RIVS", together with the specialists from the company's laboratory held the laboratory researches on the enterprise's products (the concentrates of the I and III copper recleaning), for the definition of the principal possibility of molybdenum concentrate obtaining. The classic concentration technology of the copper ores foresees the holding of the collective copper-molybdenum flotation with the following selection. According to this, the flotation concentration technology, applied on the Carmen enterprise, was initially oriented on the obtaining of copper concentrate. Due to this, the task of the molybdenite extraction from the copper concentrate is connected with the definite difficulties. First of all, this is the high value of рН in the collective cycle (to 11–11,5) as the necessary condition of reaching the acceptable performances on the containing of copper in the marketable concentrate. Secondary, this is the necessity of usage of the high-selective collectors in the copper cycle, according to the copper minerals. The technology, developed by the specialists from Science and Production Association "RIVS" makes it possible to obtain the addition marketable product – the molybdenum concentrate. Authors express the gratitude to the employees from Science and Production Association "RIVS" – Engineer-mineralogist S. P. Nagaeva and Mechanical Engineer N. B. Tursunova – for the help during the development of the obtaining technology of molybdenum concentrate on the Carmen processing plant.
