Due to the prospect definition of «Severalmaz» company and searching the way out of crisis, there appeared the necessity in overestimation of the project decisions of 2002 and the new concept creating at Lomonosov deposit development.
According to the new project, there were made some special decisions, which allow to increase significantly the deposit`s development efficiency: the development of Karpinsky-2 pipe was put off for more later period, in connection with the low marketable valuble of kimberlites; there were defined the boundaries of the first turn open pits with 348 meters deep on Arkhangelskaya pipe and with 298 meters deep on Karpinsky-1 pipe; there was changed the open pit opening scheme with application of steeply inclined ramps in the open pit bottom; processing plant and tailing dump were projected on the irreducible distance from the open pit boundaries.
Practical realization of the decisions, which were made during the project operation, as well as the increased and recently stabilzed demand on diamondiferous raw materials, allows “Severalmaz” company to move to a profitable level of deposit development in the next few years.
Hereinafter, it is necessary to estimate the possibility and efficiency of the pit reserves development of Arkhangelskaya pipe and Karpinsky-1 pipe.
