Lomonosov diamond deposit contains over 18% of Russian diamond reserves. It is burried under the layers of upper paleozoic and quartenary sedimentations. This deposit is situated within the limits of a forecast-surveying type area. Such territories are characterized by presence of a weakly cut kimberlite bodies, which are followed by a local spreading trail of indicator kimberlite minerals (IKM) in ferrigenous collectors.
In such conditions, it`s impossible to form a sufficiently displaced diamond placers from native sources. Kimberlite bodies are weakly defined both in geophysical bodies and in low-contrast placer halations, which contain singular granules of IKM.
As a result of researchings, which were held by «ALROSA» JSC, the North-West of East European province become the place, where is situated the range of regional and local preconditions of a spatial placement of kimberlite and lamporite and kimberlite ar-eas, fields, bunches and separate bodies of a Karelian and Kola diamondiferous subprovince: deep physical and geological heterogeneities and structural factors.
Zolotitskoe field containes the deposit and has more favourable regional preconditions of a diamondiferous magmatism among all well-known developments of Karelian and Kola subprovince. Discovered factors of a local control could be used for searching the new diamond deposits on closed areas.
A generalization of extensive materials is held on structure, rock composition and diamond content of a deposit.
