In particular, MOX-fuel manufacturing in the Savannah River was analyzed. U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) proposed the idea of partial convertion of excessive plutonium into MOX-fuel for NPP power reactors, and partial immobilization of it in glass or ceramic materials.
