Название New engineering solutions for safety platforms in deepening mine shafts

Реферат

On the basis of the domestic and foreign experience gained in construction of safety platforms during deepening of shafts in coal and iron ore mining, the team of designers and researchers from SibGorKompleks Engineering company (Novokuznetsk) and the Department for Construction of Underground Structures and Mines at the Gorbachov Kuzbass State Technical University (Kemerovo) propose new engineering solutions and designs of wedge safety platforms. These safety platforms not only greatly abate impact stress generated by dropped heavy objects in shafts but also reduce consumption of materials and assembling efforts as against horizontal safety platforms. A wedge safety platform is a Z-shaped structure composed of two height-shifted sections with the parallel-arranged inclined baffle plates that are mounted on shock-absorbing elements, distributing–weighting concrete plates, horizontal and vertical support beams and height-wise connected by a divide wall. The application of the proposed design of the wedge safety platform in deepening Skipovoy shaft by Gornaya Shoria Division of EVRAZRUDA enabled reducing the down time of the operating shaft hoist and resulted in acquisition of additional income in amount of more than 68 million rubles. Three variants of the design of wedge safety platforms are protected by the Russian Federation utility patents. It is expedient to use the proposed designs of wedge safety platforms in mine modernization projects to ensure smooth and continuous performance of shaft hoisting and deepening.
