Efficient warehousing and transportation of slabs is very responsible and difficult operation, owing to unfavourable production conditions at a metallurgical works. ThyssenKrupp Steel Europe company has put into practice on its Duisburg-Beeckerwerth works the new system of warehouse management; it was specially planned to meet the requirements of slab adjustage. The system allows to plan and exactly on-line monitor transportation of all slabs, providing optimization of operating processes and usage of production facilities.
