Chernye Metally
The «Chernye Metally» journal No. 4-2022 has been published.
The issue of the journal is headed with the Iron Production section, which presents an article written by the authors of NUST MISiS devoted to the effectiveness of using a heat-insulating insert in the air duct of a blast tuyere using mathematical modeling.
The next «Steel production» section with a publication on the development of clock models and their application for the modernization of an electric steel shop will be of interest for readers. The team of authors is represented by specialists from the Tomsk Polytechnic University, Yurga Technological Institute and the Moscow State University of Civil Engineering.
In the «Foundry» section, the authors from the Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University named after R. E. Alekseev examined the composition and tested a liquid-moving self-hardening mixture of improved manufacturability for the manufacture of molds and steel casting cores. In the same section, the article written by specialists from the Siberian Federal University is published on the possibility of using graphite-containing sludge from an aspiration gas purification system in the production of cryptocrystalline graphite as part of a self-drying non-stick coating.
In the «Rolling and Heat Treatment» section, a team of authors from the Metal Forming chair of the Ural Federal University presents a continuation of their article on optimizing roll calibrations for channel rolling (the 1st part was published in the «Chernye Metally» journal, No. 9, 2019).
An interesting article is presented in the «Chemical Technologies» section, devoted to the study of the kinetic features of the chromium dissolution in an acid electrolyte.
In the “Coating and surface treatment” section, possible causes of defects during the deposition and subsequent heat treatment of nickel-phosphorus coatings containing dispersed silicon carbides on steel sheets with a thickness of 65–180 mm are studied.
The same issue presents publications in the sections «Energy and Ecology» and «Engineering Technologies».
The same issue contains a commemorative article dedicated to the 85th anniversary of Gennady Nikolaevich Yelansky, who passed away last year.
