Abstract

This article gives the results of testing of the anionite A170 of the “Purolite” Company for the sorption extraction of rhenium from the industrial solutions of washed sulfuric acid with its low concentration (13 mg/dm3). The results of rhenium elution from the anionite by ammonia water solution are also presented. The sorption indices of anionite are high: the volume of the missing solution for its full saturation with rhenium is 3,000 sp.vol. The full dynamic capacitance on rhenium is 27 mg/cm3. The salt form of anionite (hydrosulfate, sulfate, nitrate, chloride, hydroxide) has no influence on its sorption indices. However, increasing of the solution transmission ratio decreases the sorption indices. Rhenium is well eluted by the ammonia water solution even with the room temperature. More than 96% of rhenium from the content in anionite is extracted by four specific volumes of eluent, taking into account the median concentration of rhenium — 5.44 g/dm3. The eluates with such high concentration of rhenium make it possible to obtain the ammonium perrhenate, by the evaporation of the solutions to ~10–12 times. The obtained data demonstrate the necessity of the resumption of sorption technology of rhenium extraction from the solutions of the wash sulfuric acid of Balkhash Copper-smelting Plant.
