Abstract

ICTREMRM KSC RAS creates scientific bases for technologies of multicomponent mineral sources found on the Kola Peninsula, which includes the development, adjustment and implementation of scientific and engineering ideas, patents and flow sheets. Attention nowadays is focused on research into nondestructive nature management, environmentally friendly technologies, enhancing the competitive ability of chemical enterprises, expanding the product range, including strategic materials, and reducing the amount of wastes. A new approach is focused on a transformation of tailings and  slag wastes into purifying materials (sorbents, coagulants, etc.) or building materials. The innovation set of technologies designed by the Kola Science Centre allows recently to involve tailing damps in re-exploitation as the technogenic deposits, as well as provide a possibility to combine processing of natural products with electronic and metallurgical wastes. Technologies for the comprehensive processing of mineral sources base on the fundamental laws of chemistry and include analysis of the state of resources, available reserves, production on the whole and trends in the development of the entire Kola chemicaltechnological complex. The complex will involve into processing the new mineral and technogenous sources to manufacture products competitive both on the home and foreign markets.
