Besides the technologically important metals 90Sr, 147Pm, 133,137Cs, 99Tc, the rare earth elements are included in the spent fuel composition. As apposed to the natural ores, the spent fuel is the amended resource. The development of the manufacturing scientific bases of rare earth elements extraction from the spent fuel is an important and urgent problem. The article lists the development results of the extraction and sorbtion concentration schemes for the most important metals release. The article presents the question of the high-level waste fractionating with rare earth elements fraction release. The promethium release from uranium and plutonium fissionproduct mixture is searched.
