Abstract Not only quality of electrodes, but also yield is important for technology of production of consumable electrodes of vacuum arc melting by the method of powder compacting of refractory metals. Principally new method of pressing of canes with quadraple compression, providing uniform density and deficiency of buckling during the following vacuum sintering is considered. The technique of determination of power parameters of the new process, tested at calculation of force of pressing of powder of alloy ЦМ-2А at original unit for all-round compression is offered.
