Abstract Results of laboratory experiments on research of kinetics of reduction of cobalt oxides by graphite are resulted. It is shown that in the field of temperatures 773–1073 K process it is realised under the two-phasic scheme including reaction of gasification of carbon, and at Т = 1173–1473 K reduction proceeds on dissociative to the scheme with decomposition of Со3О4. Mathematical model of process is made for the both variants and its kinetic parameters are defined. Speed of interaction of cobalt oxides with graphite is limited by reaction of indirect reduction in all interval of temperatures 773–1473 K. Recommendations for increase of efficiency of regenerative electrofusion on fire cobalt are offered.
