Abstract Oxidized nickel ores (magnesian, siliceous and etc.) and slags appeared from the blast smelting have complicated multicomponent composition. Calculated analysis of reduction sulfidizing smelting of siliceous oxidized nickel ore has been done using technical reports of the area of shaft furnaces, journals of shaft furnaces charges and other performance benchmarks at Mechel’s Southern Urals Nickel Plant subsidiary (OJSC «Yuzhuralnickel Plant»). Optimal chemical composition of slag and formula for slag acidity are set up. Process performances depends on slag composition of blast smelting of siliceous oxidized nickel ore.
