Abstract

Simulation and investigation of crystallization process in casting of automobile plungers from aluminum alloys using programs for automated simulation LVM Flow are shown for the purpose of modernization of production process of plungers of ICE (internal-combustion engine). As a result of that investigation, the analysis of dynamics of casting cooling and phase transfer was conducted; it made possible revelation of places of possible appearance of shrinkage type defects.
