This paper shows the results of experiments on beryllium and copper extraction from copper-beryllium ligature slags (“Bazalt” Association). The research work includes the choice and substantiation of slag processing method, the choice of flux, comparative analysis of copper-beryllium ligature smelting with and without flux, definition of the ratio of charge components and smelting products yield. There was made an offer to utilize slags by smelting in induction vacuum furnace with fluoride-alkaline flux on the basis of magnesium fluoride and ash. The influence of various factors on completeness of beryllium and copper extraction in metallic phase was investigated. The main process parameters were defined (charge smelting temperature, flux consumption, yield and quality of metallic alloy). The yield of metallic phase (alloy) in the chosen smelting mode with the recommended flux was ~82% from the mass of initial slag. According to the content of beryllium and admixtures, the obtained alloy meets the requirements, established to the “Bazalt” ligature, and may be used as recycle in copperberyllium ligature obtaining technology. There was developed the process flowsheet of extraction of expensive beryllium and copper from the wastes, which are currently not processed. According to the results of investigations, there were defined the technical offers for the use of the results of investigations in working conditions. Introduction of technology offers the reduction of the specific standards of initial materials consumption, and decrease the cost of copper-beryllium ligature. This will be conductive to the solution of the problem of rational use of natural resources and environmental protection.
