The history of exploring and development of the deposits of sulfide coppernickel ores at Kola peninsula by “Severonickel” and “Pechenganickel” works is described. 13 deposits have been explored and included in the company's books, 5 from them are completely worked out at present time. The periods of deposits development, ore and metals development volumes (annually) and extraction parameters for each deposits are presented. Choice of development systems at “Severnyi-Glubokiy” mine is observed. It is noted that reserves at Zapolyarnoe as well as Kotselvaara-Kammikivi and Semiletka deposits are close to their end, therefore it is necessary to examine the variants of development of the ore base of the Company in order to keep the achieved level of nickel production from own raw materials.
