Abstract

High cost of chelating resins, applied for selective extraction of platinum metals from technogenic wastes and processed solutions, raises their regeneration task. Previously, there were carried out the comprehensive studies for the platinum (IV) sorption on the Purolite S920 resin, containing thiourea functional groups. This resin has a high exchange capacity and adsorption selectivity, according to Pt (IV). This article defines the regularities of platinum (IV) desorption with the chelating resin Purolite S920, using thiourea as chemical and electrochemical methods. During the chemical desorption of thiourea by muriatic solution, the maximum degree of desorption of platinum (IV) was more than (67±3)%. Desorption with imposing of electric current was carried out for increasing of extent of extraction of platinum from ionite. Electrochemical desorption was carried out in electrolytic cell with direct current for the purpose of simultaneous cathodic allocation of platinum, which was passed to solution from anion exchanger. It is shown that degree of platinum desorption from resin with thiourea solution is increased from (64±2)% to (94±3)%, when direct current is applied. Thus, the basic amount of platinum is allocated on the cathode (87±2)%. The possibility of reuse of regenerated chelating resin for platinum (IV) extraction of solution is shown. High values of regeneration parameters also remain at repeated carrying out of process. The offered method allows to carry out the efficient extraction of platinum on cathode in one stage with desorption.
