Abstract

This article gives a brief information about the history of creation and development of the following institutes of Ural Branch of Russian Academy of Sciences, which activities are aimed to solving of non-ferrous metallurgy problems: Institute of Metallurgy, Institute of Solid State Chemistry and Institute of High Temperature Electrochemistry. The main directions of scientific activity are presented together with personnel and material-technical capabilities of organization departments of institutes for carrying out of the basic research and advanced technology development. There are described the most significant achievements in the areas of specialization and strong relationships with leading research centers and enterprises in Russia and foreign countries.
