This article describes the complexes of modern equipment of “Kamensk Uralsky Metallurgical Works” JSC (“KUMZ” JSC) and prospects of re-equipment at all stages of semi-finished products manufacturing (melting, casting, rolling, extrusion, forging, heat treatment) till 2016. “KUMZ” JSC is a parent enterprise in the field of development and commercialization of technologies for modern production of new aluminum alloys (especially Al – Li alloys, high-strength alloys of Al – Zn – Mg – Cu system and hot resistant alloys with Ag addition), created by “VIAM” Institute. “KUMZ” JSC makes a dynamical evolution and carries out the continuous equipping and modification (mainly with foreign units). According to this, the following operations should be noted:
— casting production: commissioning of melting and casting units (capacity of up to 60 t) with melting and casting automatic systems; furnaces for homogenizing annealing of flat and cylindrical ingots;
— rolling production: commissioning of an adjustage horizontal spray unit for heat treatment and straightening of wide-length (up to 2500 mm) and long-length (up to 15000 mm) lagging sheets;
— press-forging production: commissioning of a unit for quenching of forgings in water-polymer medium for the purpose of decreasing of internal residual stresses and distortion in metallurgical and machinery production.

For the purpose of increasing of weight efficiency, commissioning of a rolling complex for manufacturing of wide-length (up to 3200 mm) and long-length (up to 12000 mm) lagging sheets for fuselage skin and long-length (up to 32000 mm) wing lagging sheets is planned to be realized by 2016. All the foregoing makes it possible to manufacture high-quality aluminum semi-finished products at the world level and to have large and reliable Russian supplier of semi-finished products at foreign market.
