  Gornyi Zhurnal (Mining journal)  

“Gorny Zhurnal” is the oldest Russian and one of the oldest international scientific-technical and industrial monthly journal devoting to all aspects of deposit development and mining of mineral resources. Established in 1825 at the Mining Military School (today St. Petersburg State Mining Institute - Technical University). Since 1997 the journal has been included in "Ore and Metals" Publishing House. «Gorny Zhurnal» is the basic edition of the Intergovernmental council of CIS countries in the field of exploration, usage and protection of the earth bowels. Volume up to 104 pages, circulation up to 2,500 copies. ISSN 0017-2278.

Its thematic plan covers all directions of scientific and technical development in mining field: technological, organizing, economical and environmental aspects of ore mining and mineral processing of solid minerals (ferrous and non-ferrous ores, mining-chemical and industrial raw materials, construction rocks, natural facing stones etc). The main journal sections are devoted to scientific and industrial innovations, legal regulation in the field of usage of the earth bowels, industrial operation experience, international collaboration, raw material base, physics and mechanics of rocks, designing and building of mining enterprises, economics and management, development of deposits, mining and building operations, processing and complex usage of mineral raw materials, equipment and materials, mine-surveying matter, power engineering and automation, industrial safety and labour protection, environment protection, personnel preparation etc.

"Gorny Zhurnal" publishes the papers of well-known scientists and leading mining specialists, elucidates important scientific-technical problems of development of mining and concentrating enterprises, scientific-research institutes and universities in the field of mining matter, presents new scientific directions and technical innovations in this area. The readers can find in this journal both the articles with applied investigations and with results of fundamental researches that make the base for new technical developments. "Gorny Zhurnal" publishes on regular base information about multiple scientific conferences and technical fairs devoted to mining problems; it is the information partner and sponsor of more than 20 such international events.

"Gorny zhurnal" is an expert peer-review edition. Its editorial board counts 44 members. It incorporates leading and respectable scientists and practical specialists in mining field (3 academicians and 3 corresponding members of the RF Academy of Sciences, 34 Doctors of Engineering. Also 3 foreign specialists from UK, Sweden and Canada participate in the work of editorial board. It provides excellent expertise of published articles.

"Gorny Zhurnal" has English supplement "Eurasian Mining" published twice a year.
