Technical Requirements
for sending advertising materials in electronic mode
to "Ore and Metals" Publishing house

Text, pictures and graphic decoration elements near the page edges should be located not nearer than 5-7 mm from cutting edges from each side; it is usual error of cutting process. E.g., if we gave the page 210x297 mm and printing bleeded, the size should be 210 + 2x3 = 216 mm and 297 + 2x3 = 303 mm.

Geometrical size of the file should correspond to the size of printed page. When printing bleeded pages, even without any elements near edges, geometrical size should be increased by 3 mm from each side. Otherwise white frame of the page can occur.

We work with PC, Graphic files should be adapted for PC. We can’t accept MAC fonts.

Layout in TIFF or EPS formats is acceptable. All fonts in vector files should be converted into curves; in raster files they should be dithered. Resolution of dithered images should be not less than 300 dpi for 1:1 scale.

Due to numerous technical problems connected with incorrect preparing of received files, PDF files can be considered as raw materials not finished product.

All files should be sent in CMYK model. Maximal total colour percent should not exceed 300. E.g. here is colour distribution for Superbalck colour: Cyan 70, Magenta 65, Yellow 65, Black 100. If allowable level is exceeded, total percent will be decreased by our specialists.

Names of files should include only Latin letters and/or figures; no punctuation marks are allowed.

Word files can be considered only as the text, not ready layout. The texts can be received as *.doc or *.rtf files. Please don’t use combined black colour for small font (less 10 pt), otherwise the text will be fuzzy due to usual error of face coinciding during printing.

When the file should be translated into Russian please attach additional file copy without text to be replaced by Russian one.

Please be informed that not all Latin fonts have Cyrillic equivalents. Thereby Customer should either prepare publication in Russian by himself and then send us the text in curves and background layerwise, or we shall select the most similar font from our base with consequent sending ready make-up to the Customer for his final confirmation.

Layouts up to 5 Mb can be sent via E-mail: rim@rudmet.ru. If necessary please use RAR or ZIP programs for compressing.
