High-temperature destruction of platinum metals and alloys

V. Dmitriev

The effect of impurities dissolved in platinum metals and alloys, melting methods for the alloys, welding conditions, metallic and non-metallic inclusions, melts of chemical elements on crack forming is examined. The mechanism is studied and temperature boundaries of brittle destruction of the alloys are determined. The conditions for apriori evaluation of melt capacity of concrete chemical element for bringing platinum metals and alloys to brittle destruction are formulated. Technical solutions for elimination of causes of crack forming at the stage of production of alloys and commercial products are developed.
