Pages of my life

“Pages of my life” is the book of memories of famous archaeologist and orientalist, for many years director of State Hermitage museum, notable cultural worker and academician – Boris Piotrovskiy. The memories cover about 40 years of life of the scientist – from events in his childhood and adolescence to events of 1956.

The memoirs contain many interesting episodes and private illustration from history of national culture and science. The portrait gallery of persons, owing to whoom foundations of young national science and culture were laid, is introduced for us. Among them: N. Ya. Marr, A. A. Miller, I. I. Meshchaninov, I. A. Orbelli, V. V. Struve, A. N. Krylov, D. A. Ol'derogge, M. S. Sar'yan, V. A. Ambartsumyan and many others are mentioned. The pictures belong to the work of B. B. Piotrovskiy are reproduced on the pages of this book.

The book is rich illustrated and oriented for specialists and wide range of readers, who interested in history of national culture and science.
